Listserv Announcement Sent: 12-16-09 1st Public Presentation on CSP Draws Large Crowd The Town of Clarkdale held the first in a series of general public meetings regarding the Clarkdale Sustainability Park on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Men’s Lounge of the Clark Memorial Clubhouse. Over 60 interested citizens attended to hear Mayor Doug Von Gausig speak about Clarkdale’s vision for the CSP. Comments from attendees were overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging! Following the meeting, Mayor Von Gausig said, “The townspeople asked wonderfully thoughtful and probing questions and I am thrilled to see a town as engaged in the project as Clarkdale is. Several people commented after the presentation that this project made them proud to be from Clarkdale, and that is the best reaction a Mayor could ever hope for!” Town Manager Gayle Mabery, who expressed great satisfaction with the large turnout, stated: “60+ people in Clarkdale equates to 1.5% of our Town’s population. If we had held this meeting in Phoenix, that turnout would have resulted in 22,000 people attending!” The Town plans to hold monthly meetings to educate Clarkdale citizens and gather their input and ideas about the Clarkdale Sustainability Park. Upcoming meetings have been scheduled for: Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. All meetings will be held in the Men’s Lounge of the Clark Memorial Clubhouse, 19 N. 9th Street, Clarkdale, Arizona.
